A powerful photography exhibition titled "My Way to Roetgen - A Whisper of Hope" is bringing individual stories of refugees to light through the lens of photographer Andreas Prömpler. The exhibition features portraits of 15 people who have left their homelands behind and built new lives in the German community of Roetgen, making their personal journeys and experiences visible to the public.

The photographer Andreas Prömpler has given an individual face to 15 of the more than 100 refugees currently living in the municipality of Roetgen, each carrying their own unique story. Through his careful portraiture work, Prömpler has created a visual narrative that captures both the struggles and hopes of these displaced individuals who have found refuge in this small German town.

Prömpler, a 52-year-old photographer born in Aachen who has lived in Roetgen for decades, has created large-format black-and-white photographs for this meaningful project. His artistic approach emphasizes the dignity and humanity of his subjects while documenting their experiences of displacement, adaptation, and renewal. The monochrome style of the portraits adds a timeless quality that focuses attention on the subjects' expressions and stories.

The exhibition, bearing the evocative title "My Way to Roetgen - A Whisper of Hope," will soon be displayed in the Bürgersaal (Citizens' Hall), providing the local community with an opportunity to connect with the personal narratives of their new neighbors. This upcoming display promises to offer viewers insight into the diverse backgrounds and experiences of refugees who have made Roetgen their new home, fostering understanding and empathy within the community.
