Fifty-two Korean major students from Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand participated in an immersive cultural experience at the Korea Cultural Center (KCC) Thailand on September 19. The educational field trip was designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to various aspects of traditional and contemporary Korean culture as part of their Korean language studies.

During their visit, the students explored the "Production Design: Scene Architects Build On-Screen World" exhibition, which is currently on display at the center. This exhibition offered them insights into the creative processes behind Korean film and television production, showcasing how visual storytelling has become an integral part of Korea's cultural exports.

The cultural immersion continued with traditional Korean games and activities that allowed students to experience Korea's rich heritage firsthand. Participants engaged in classic Korean games including Tuho, a traditional ring-toss game; Ddakjichigi, a paper-flipping game similar to pogs; and Jegichagi, a traditional Korean shuttlecock game. These activities provided students with an authentic taste of Korean recreational culture and social traditions.

One of the highlights of the field trip was the hanbok experience, where students had the opportunity to try on traditional Korean clothing and take commemorative photographs. This activity allowed them to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of Korean traditional attire while creating lasting memories of their cultural exploration.

The students also participated in a hands-on craft workshop where they created traditional Korean masks using hanji, Korea's traditional handmade paper. Each student was able to design and craft their own unique mask, resulting in beautiful individual works of art that reflected both Korean artistic traditions and their personal creativity. This activity not only taught them about Korean artistic techniques but also gave them tangible souvenirs of their cultural learning experience.

The Korea Cultural Center expressed their sincere hope that this comprehensive field trip experience would significantly enhance the students' Korean language learning journey. By combining cultural immersion with traditional activities, exhibitions, and hands-on crafts, the program aimed to deepen students' understanding and appreciation of Korean culture, which is essential for mastering the language and understanding its cultural context.
