At the 80th Golden Globe Awards held in the United States on the 10th (local time), director Park Chan-wook's film “Decision to Leave” was nominated in the category of Best Non-English Language Film.

The Golden Globe Awards, hosted by the US HFPA, are the two major film awards representing the United States, along with the Academy Awards (The Oscars).

In 2020, director Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" won the Foreign Language Film Award, and the following year, Korean-American director Lee Isaac Chung's "Minari" won the same award.

In 2022, actor O Yeong-su of “Squid game” received the award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Drama.

If “Decision to Leave” wins the best non-English film award again this year, Korea movies will set a record for winning four consecutive years at the Golden Globe Awards.

“Decision to Leave” is also nominated for the Academy Awards International Film Award. If good news is delivered at the Golden Globe Awards, which are called the prelude to the “Academy Awards,” the prospects for winning works on the main stage of the Academy, which will be held on March 12, are expected to become even brighter.

Meanwhile, director Park Chan-wook's “Decision to Leave” was nominated in 10 categories at the 16th Asian Film Awards (AFA) to be held in Hong Kong on March 12 this year.

On the 6th, the Busan International Film Festival said, ““Decision to Leave” is nominated in 10 categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Male and Female Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Music, Best Art, and Best Sound. This is the record for the most nominations ever.”
