In a statement released on Friday, JYP Entertainment announced that Jihyo, a prominent member of the nine-member group, will be joining the ranks of solo artists within Twice. This news comes after Nayeon's successful solo venture, marking Jihyo as the second member to embark on an individual musical journey.
Building excitement among fans, a recently unveiled poster features Jihyo stylishly touching up her lipstick in a rear-view mirror, providing a glimpse of the person behind the wheel. The enigmatic teaser poster, originally captioned "Killin' Me Good," adds to the anticipation surrounding Jihyo's upcoming release.
While Jihyo's solo endeavors captivate fans, Twice is gearing up for an extensive tour across the United States. Commencing in Los Angeles on Friday, the nonet will mesmerize audiences in a total of nine cities, delivering an impressive lineup of 13 concerts during their month-long visit.
In parallel with these developments, Twice continues to dominate the digital realm. As of Friday, their music video for "Likey" has surpassed an impressive milestone of 600 million views on YouTube. Notably, this achievement marks the third music video from the group to reach such heights, following the successes of "TT" and "What Is Love?" "Likey" serves as the lead track from Twice's debut studio album, "Twicetagram," released back in October 2017.
As anticipation grows for Jihyo's solo debut, fans eagerly await the unique musical journey she is about to embark on. Twice's unwavering popularity and record-breaking achievements continue to solidify their position as one of the leading forces in the K-pop industry.
