In a pivotal move for the global music sensation BTS, all seven members—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—have recently inked renewed contracts with their agency, BigHit Music, according to industry insiders. This marks the second contract renewal for the acclaimed group, solidifying their continued collaboration with the label.
The decision follows a recent regulatory filing by Hybe, the parent company of BigHit, announcing the board's approval of contract renewals for BTS. This development is seen by industry experts as a strategic move, eliminating a significant risk factor for Hybe, as it paves the way for BTS to reunite as a group in 2025 after fulfilling their mandatory military service requirements.
BTS, who made their debut under Big Hit Entertainment (now Hybe) in 2013, initially renewed their contracts in October 2018. Over the years, they have achieved groundbreaking success, becoming the first K-pop act to dominate the U.S. Billboard's Hot 100 main singles chart and the Billboard 200 main albums chart. Their remarkable journey includes six songs and albums that have claimed the top position on these charts, solidifying their status as global music icons.
