Court Decision Addresses Video Allegations, Sparks Conflicting Interpretations
▲ Omega X's twitterThe court identified six expressions within the video as false information, mandating its removal within three days. Failure to comply would result in a daily fine of 1 million won ($770).
Injiwoong contended that Omega X's current agency, IPQ Entertainment, influenced the members to terminate their contract with Spire Entertainment prematurely, constituting tampering and a breach of contract.
Both IPQ Entertainment and Spire Entertainment interpret the court decision in their favor. IPQ asserts that the court's order to remove the video implies a rejection of the tampering accusation. Conversely, Spire Entertainment sees it as a victory for Injiwoong, as most requests to take down his videos were denied, suggesting that he mostly spoke the truth.
IPQ Entertainment sought the deletion of 90 phrases from eight of Injiwoong's videos, with only six being approved by the court. The court also mandated that Omega X members cover 90 percent of the lawsuit costs, with Injiwoong responsible for the remaining 10 percent.
Spire Entertainment, in a press release, pledged firm measures against Omega X for allegedly spreading false information to the public.
The court refrained from taking action on other videos, citing the subjective nature of the term "tampering" and the need for meticulous proof, which is challenging to determine in a brief injunction hearing. IPQ Entertainment plans to file a defamation suit against Injiwoong and Spire Entertainment, according to legal attorney Roh Jong-eon. The date for the filing has not been specified.

A recent legal conflict has emerged between boy band Omega X, their former agency Spire Entertainment, and YouTuber Injiwoong, also known as Kim Ji-woong. A local court ruled on Tuesday, ordering Injiwoong to remove a video where he claimed that Omega X members intentionally provoked Spire Entertainment's CEO to break free from their exclusive contract and sign with a new agency.
Injiwoong contended that Omega X's current agency, IPQ Entertainment, influenced the members to terminate their contract with Spire Entertainment prematurely, constituting tampering and a breach of contract.
