In a highly anticipated press conference held in Seoul on Wednesday, boy band DKB unveiled their sixth EP, "I Need Love," marking their return to the music scene after a 10-month hiatus. The nine-member group, known for their powerful performances and dark concepts, showcased a newfound confidence and youthful energy, reflecting their experiences in the recent hit TV program, "Peak Time."

Since their debut in 2020 amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, DKB has faced numerous challenges and obstacles. However, with the opportunity to meet fans, hold live concerts, and showcase their talents on television, the band members have grown and evolved in remarkable ways. Notably, their participation in "Peak Time," a boy band competition that granted a second chance to established groups, proved to be a turning point for the band's trajectory.

"We were able to explore different concepts during 'Peak Time.' We discovered a freshness within ourselves that we hadn't known before and experimented with performance-centered songs. Uncovering previously undiscovered aspects of our artistry, we are excited to present this new concept through our latest album," shared one of the band members.

"I Need Love," the title track of the EP, features an upbeat house pop sound with groovy elements and an addictive hook. The lyrics convey a warm and healing message, accompanied by the captivating composition and lyrical prowess of Brave Brothers, the band's label chief and star producer.

Eager to win over more hearts, DKB aimed to depart from their usual powerful image and embrace a cool, fresh energy. Co-leader E-Chan expressed, "We wanted to infuse our unique, energetic performances with a refreshing vibe, showcasing a new side of ourselves." The album also includes tracks like "More Than 100 Reasons," "Feeling," "1 on 1," and "I Need Love (Outro)," each highlighting different aspects of the band's versatility and creativity.

While the competition undoubtedly provided DKB with high scores and public recognition, the band emphasizes that their growth goes beyond these achievements. "We have not only improved our talent, but we have also gained confidence. In the past, despite believing in ourselves, we sometimes felt discouraged by the lack of recognition. However, receiving positive feedback from judges and fellow contestants made us realize that we were simply undiscovered. We now have the confidence that, with continued hard work, people will acknowledge us," shared E-Chan, the group's leader.

Having debuted under Brave Entertainment in February 2020 with their first EP, "Youth," DKB consists of eight Korean members, including co-leaders D1 and E-Chan, along with GK, Harry-June, Lune, Teo, Junseo, Heechan, and Japanese member Yuku. With "I Need Love," the band hopes to mark a significant milestone in their career, showcasing the progress they have made over the past three years.

Following the release of their latest EP, DKB is set to embark on a tour in Japan. In April, the band's second Japanese EP, "Rebel," achieved remarkable success, securing the top spot on the Oricon music chart's daily ranking and making its mark on the Billboard Japan albums chart.

As the press conference drew to a close, Teo expressed the band's aspirations, stating, "We aim to demonstrate that DKB is a versatile group capable of executing various concepts. Furthermore, as our new song revolves around themes of love and comfort, we hope that our music spreads positive energy and resonates with many."
