On Wednesday, K-pop rookies Lun8 released their new mini album titled "Buff" after a hiatus of seven months.
Speaking at a press conference in Seoul, member Chael described the album as centered around themes of youthful dreams and the collective empowerment to realize them.
Lun8 comprises eight members, including seven Korean members - Chael, Jinsu, Junwoo, Dohyun, Ian, Eunho, and Eunseop - as well as one Japanese member, Takuma.
The group made their debut on June 15, 2023, with their first mini album "Continue?" under the label Fantagio, known for managing K-pop boy group Astro.
Their latest EP, "Buff," features the track "Super Power" as its lead single, characterized by upbeat pop elements and energetic instrumentals.
Member Dohyun explained that "Super Power" narrates the experience of falling in love unexpectedly, delivering a vibrant energy to fans and listeners.
Additional tracks on the EP include "Mon2Sun," "Got The Rizz," "Pastel," and "Now." "Pastel," an R&B track, was released prior to the album's official launch on Feb. 19.
Eunseop highlighted the intention to showcase diverse musical styles, contrasting the energetic concept of "Super Power" with the sultry vibe of "Pastel."
The EP also features an English version of the lead track, representing Lun8's endeavor to appeal to a broader international audience.
Chael acknowledged member Dohyun's proficiency in English, facilitating the pronunciation of lyrics for the English version. The group expressed aspirations to work overseas in the future.
With the release of "Buff," Lun8 aims to secure a position on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, marking a significant milestone in their burgeoning career.
