▲ Courtesy of YG EntertainmentThe renewal of the four-member group's exclusive contract was disclosed by YG Entertainment on December 6, signifying a commitment to continued group activities. Since their debut in 2016, Blackpink has risen to prominence as a globally recognized K-pop girl group, achieving success on major music charts in the US and UK with hits such as "Whistle," "Boombayah," "Playing With Fire," "Kill This Love," "Lovesick Girls," "Pink Venom," and "Shut Down."
Blackpink made history in the K-pop realm last year when their second studio album, "Born Pink," claimed the top spot on both the Billboard 200 and the British Official Albums Chart Top 100, marking the first instance of such achievement by a K-pop girl group.
Earlier this year, the group concluded their second world tour, "Born Pink," amassing a global audience of 1.8 million fans.
Jennie, a member of Blackpink, became the first to announce her solo career move under a new agency she has established. In a post on her Instagram account on Sunday, she expressed gratitude for the accomplishments of the year and shared excitement about embarking on a solo journey in 2024 with her newly formed company, OA. Jennie urged fans to support both her solo venture and, of course, Blackpink.
