Cherri-Ann Farquharson, a board member of Adventist Today, has launched an ambitious photography fundraising campaign called the #ATSummerChallenge, combining her passion for Caribbean travel photography with support for independent religious journalism.

The month-long initiative, which began on August 1, 2025, features Farquharson posting one photograph daily throughout August from her extensive travels across the Caribbean region. Each image serves as what she describes as "a window into the beauty of God's creation and a reminder of the diversity and wonder that surround us."

Farquharson, who is deeply committed to Adventist Today's mission, explained that the campaign goes far beyond simple photography sharing. "This August, I'm embarking on a visual journey for a cause close to my heart—Adventist Today," she stated. "As a board member, I'm passionate about AT's mission to provide accessible, independent journalism that encourages critical thinking, compassion, and spiritual growth within the Adventist community."

The fundraising component of the challenge directly supports Adventist Today's ability to produce what Farquharson calls "high-quality, faith-affirming content that sparks dialogue and deepens understanding." She emphasizes that every dollar donated makes a meaningful difference in strengthening the organization's journalistic capabilities.

Participants and supporters can follow the daily photo updates through multiple channels, including social media platforms and a dedicated post that receives daily updates with new images. Those inspired by the campaign are encouraged to sponsor Farquharson's challenge through direct donations.

The campaign launched with a striking sunset photograph taken in Hopewell, Jamaica on August 1, 2025. Accompanying the image, Farquharson wrote, "The heavens declare the glory of God and childhood joy echoes His goodness below. This August, I've accepted the challenge to pause daily and share the beauty of creation in support of the #ATSummerChallenge with Adventist Today. Join me in celebrating His creation."

The second day featured a vibrant Golden Trumpet Flower photographed in Christ Church, Barbados. Farquharson reflected on the spiritual significance of the moment, stating, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof! Every leaf, every hue, every detail whispered of divine intention. This burst of color turned a simple walk into worship—there is beauty all around. As part of the #ATSummerChallenge with Adventist Today, I'm pausing each day to share a glimpse of the Creator's artistry and raise awareness for this worthy cause."

The campaign structure ensures maximum visibility by listing the most recent photograph first, creating an engaging reverse-chronological journey for followers. Farquharson has designed the challenge to showcase the Caribbean's natural beauty while simultaneously raising both funds and awareness for independent Adventist journalism.

Adventist Today, the beneficiary organization, focuses on providing independent journalism within the Adventist community, emphasizing critical thinking, compassion, and spiritual growth. The organization's mission aligns with Farquharson's personal values and her commitment to supporting accessible religious media.

The #ATSummerChallenge represents a unique intersection of travel photography, spiritual reflection, and grassroots fundraising. By combining her personal travels with meaningful cause marketing, Farquharson has created a campaign that engages audiences on multiple levels—visual, spiritual, and philanthropic.

Throughout the month of August, supporters can expect daily updates featuring diverse Caribbean locations, each accompanied by Farquharson's reflective commentary on the spiritual and natural beauty captured in her photographs. The campaign concludes with an invitation for community participation: "Let's journey together this August—and support a mission that matters."
