In a notable milestone for V of BTS, his latest single "Slow Dancing" made a remarkable entry onto Billboard's Hot 100, securing the 51st spot according to the latest chart published in the US on Tuesday. This achievement marks V's third solo single to grace the prestigious main songs chart, affirming his burgeoning presence as a solo artist.
"Slow Dancing" serves as the centerpiece of V's inaugural solo album titled "Layover." The track's successful Billboard debut follows the footsteps of his previous solo endeavors, including the theme song "Christmas Tree" for a drama series and the pre-release from his EP, "Love Me Again," which secured positions at No. 79 and No. 96 on the Hot 100, respectively.
The international reception of V's solo venture has been equally impressive, with the single making a strong debut on the UK's Official Singles Top 100, landing at an impressive No. 24. Additionally, "Layover," the accompanying mini album, achieved significant success, securing the No. 2 spot on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart. This feat solidifies V's position alongside his fellow BTS members Jimin and Suga, as they collectively hold the record for K-pop solo artists reaching such heights.
Not limited to the Western market, V's musical prowess received a warm embrace in Japan as well, as "Layover" quickly ascended to the top of Oricon's weekly album ranking. Fresh off his promotional efforts in Japan, the artist returned to his home base on Monday, showcasing the global reach and impact of his solo artistry.
