The Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music (Scam) is now accepting applications for the prestigious Roger Pic Prize 2026, offering €5,000 to a photographer whose work captures reality through a uniquely humanistic lens. The annual competition, which runs through November 30, 2025, seeks photographic portfolios that document real-world experiences while exploring the depths of human nature and experience.

The prize honors the legacy of Roger Pic, a renowned photographer, filmmaker, and passionate advocate for copyright protection whose work was characterized by its generous spirit and humanist perspective. This annual award represents a collaboration between Scam and Fisheye magazine, combining their expertise to recognize outstanding photographic achievement that reflects Pic's vision of using visual storytelling to illuminate the human condition.

The selection process involves a distinguished jury that is refreshed each year to bring new perspectives to the evaluation. The panel includes the president of the Scam-Vélasquez association, members of Scam's still images commission, and respected external figures from the photography world who bring diverse viewpoints to the judging process.

Among the notable jury members is Véronique de Viguerie, who previously won the Roger Pic Prize in earlier years and now contributes her experience and expertise to identifying the next generation of exceptional documentary photographers. Her participation underscores the prize's commitment to maintaining continuity between past winners and future recipients.

Photographers interested in applying have until November 30, 2025, to submit their portfolios, which should demonstrate both technical excellence and a compelling vision that aligns with the prize's mission of documenting reality while revealing deeper truths about humanity.
