Adrien Ollive, a 32-year-old action cameraman, drone pilot, and photographer, is showcasing his photographic work at the citizen gallery in Condé-sur-Sarthe, near Alençon in Orne, France. The exhibition, which features a diverse collection of aerial and ground-based photographs, will run until Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Born in Melun, Seine-et-Marne, Ollive moved to Orne 14 years ago, settling in Saint-Léger-sur-Sarthe, near Le Mêle. His journey into visual arts began with video work in 2012, when he immediately equipped himself with a drone. However, it was during a mountain trip with friends six years ago that he decided to expand into photography as well.
The artist is entirely self-taught, having never taken formal courses in photography or videography. "I define myself as an autodidact," Ollive explains. However, his passion for imagery dates back to his childhood, influenced by his mother who worked as a printer-filter operator in a photo lab. This early exposure to the world of photography planted the seeds for his future artistic pursuits.
The photographs displayed at the citizen gallery represent "a panel of everything I'm capable of doing," according to Ollive. While his work tends to focus more on sports and stunts, the current exhibition showcases a broader range of subjects. Visitors can view landscapes, gymnasts in action, a pilot on the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit, and aerial views of the Halle au Blé, among other subjects. These diverse images demonstrate his versatility as both an aerial and terrestrial photographer.
What sets Ollive's work apart is his philosophy of capturing fleeting moments. He describes his photographs as images he "captures at precise moments that will never happen again." This approach reflects his understanding that photography is about seizing unique instances in time, whether from the ground or from the sky through his drone work.
Ollive has turned his passion into a livelihood, traveling wherever projects take him. His work extends far beyond Orne, reaching across France and even internationally. He has upcoming projects that will take him to Spain, where he plans to work with a group of friends who are fencers. His professional approach allows him to work both on commissioned projects for clients and on personal artistic endeavors.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge during the town hall's operating hours. Visitors can view Ollive's work on Mondays from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Tuesdays from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM without interruption.
