K-Pop group Teen Top has announced the departure of its leader, C.A.P, following a controversial YouTube livestream. The group's agency, TOP Media, released an official statement on Thursday, saying that they have decided to remove C.A.P from the team after discussions with other members. The statement added that the group will continue as a four-piece with Niel, Changjo, Chunji, and Ricky. The agency later confirmed that they have also terminated their exclusive contract with C.A.P.

The announcement comes after the agency issued an apology for the leader's behavior during a casual live YouTube session on Monday. During the broadcast, C.A.P lit a cigarette while taking a break from painting, prompting some fans to ask him not to smoke. In response, he lashed out at them, cursing and complaining about people who "never used to watch my videos all of a sudden rush in here because the comeback is around the corner and give (me) bullshit, saying, 'Don't do that.'"

The agency released an official apology on Tuesday, saying that they apologize for C.A.P's inappropriate behavior and words during the live broadcast. The agency also stated that C.A.P is reflecting on his behavior and deeply regretting it. The company had previously agreed to discuss C.A.P's contract renewal following the group's comeback, but the partnership came to an early end following the decision to dismiss C.A.P from the team.

In a statement, TOP Media said that they had arrived at a mutual agreement with C.A.P to "take a better path separately." The agency expressed regret at having to break the news to all the fans who have shown support for the group. C.A.P also posted an apology on social media, saying that he "made a mistake" and knew that he was doing wrong to everyone who supported him and his bandmates.

Teen Top debuted in 2010 under TOP Media and gained fame with hits such as "Miss Right," "Rocking," and "No More Perfume on You." The group recently announced that it would make a comeback in July with a new album to celebrate its 13th anniversary. The departure of C.A.P is a significant blow to the group, and it remains to be seen how they will adapt to the loss of their leader.
