On Friday, BigHit Music confirmed that BTS's Jungkook has received his first platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for his inaugural full-length solo album, "Golden." The RIAJ's certification is based on shipment figures, with "Golden" having surpassed 250,000 copies shipped as of November.
The RIAJ's certification system designates gold status for over 100,000 copies shipped, platinum for 250,000, double platinum for 500,000, and triple platinum for 750,000. Albums reaching one million copies shipped are awarded a million certification.

"Golden," released on November 3, marks Jungkook's fourth RIAJ certification. Previous certifications include gold for "Euphoria" (2018), "Left and Right" (2022), a collaboration with Charlie Puth, and "Seven," featuring American rapper Latto.
Jungkook's "Golden" quickly dominated Japan's Oricon charts, debuting at No. 1 on Oricon's Daily Album chart. The album sold 205,961 copies immediately after its release, according to his agency.
Jungkook, alongside bandmate Jimin, is set to commence mandatory military service on Tuesday. Other members yet to begin their service, RM and V, will start their duties the day before Jungkook and Jimin.
