Lee Jae-yong, a ceramic pottery artist who has created modern works with traditional skills, holds a solo exhibition, 'Pottery Forest' in Daejeon.

The artist recreates a ceramic culture that is unfamiliar to modern people who are accustomed to industrial plates and bowls to fit the lives of modern society. He adds completeness to the work with his knowledge of the basic pottery-making technique.

He creates new artistic ideas by adding beautiful sculptural elements to ceramics that are delicately baked at higher temperatures to increase water resistance.

In the exhibition, Lee collaborates with space designer Kim Il-rae to display flowers in an earthenware vase.

Lee said, "We expect that the representation of earthenware as a flower container will provide different fun and experiences to the audience who are interested in ceramics and plants."

The exhibition, which runs from the 15th to the 21st, will be held at the Jiso Gallery in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
