French artist Philippe Parreno's first solo exhibition in Korea, 'VOICES', which is drawing attention from the art world around the world, will be held at the Leeum Museum.

Philippe is an artist who challenged traditional artist concepts, rejected the role of an artist as a simple object producer, explored the dynamic relationship between exhibitions and works, suggested the 'experience of time', and led the innovative transformation of contemporary art forms in the 90s.

He has used various media methodologies and vocabulary such as radio, TV, film, and advanced information technology to break down the limits of reality and fiction and attempt a radical transformation of nonlinear temporality and narrative structure.

The artist's work is intricately structured in several layers, representing a constant movement itself that can never be reduced to a single position or medium. From the beginning of his work, he has catalyzed the art world, planning collaborations with experts in various fields, proposing an ideal community, and taking the lead in critical art practice.

For the artist, the exhibition is not just an arrangement of works, but another creative act, and his interest lies in the form and interaction it shows in the exhibition rather than in producing objects.

This exhibition is Asia's largest survey exhibition where you can experience Philippe's world of work from the 90s until recently. The exhibition consists of major works and new works representing his activities over 30 years and will be held at the museum's outdoor deck, lobby, M2, black box, and ground gallery.

The exhibition 'VOICE' proposes a total artistic experience by performing emotional and synesthetic choreography centered on various voices. In his work, many voices are used as key elements, breathing life into the object and transforming it into a subject.

In particular, at this exhibition, a new work, '∂ A,' which was created through collaboration with Korean actor Bae Doo-na, is drawing attention. The work is about the actress' real voice being reborn as a virtual voice by artificial intelligence, and growing up by acquiring '∂ A,' a new language created by the creator of the artificial language.

In addition, The Voice of Many also offers visitors a unique experience as it runs through the exhibition. The museum acts as a huge automatic machine, transforming into a space full of mysterious language and music that flows out simultaneously, continuing its unpredictable evolution at the real-life boundary.

The exhibition will feature more than 40 works, including his large new works, '膜 (2024)' and '∂ A (2024)', and the first collaboration artwork between Pierre Wiig and M/M.

The exhibition will run until July 7 at the Leeum Museum in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
