Korean monochrome master Kim Tae-Ho, a painter, passed away on October 4 at the age of 75 in Busan. He recently collapsed from a brain hemorrhage while preparing for an exhibition, and received treatment at a hospital in Busan.
Born in Busan in 1948, he graduated from Hongik University in Western Painting and later studied at the Graduate School of Education at the same graduate school. He served as a professor of painting at his alma mater until 2016, and participated in 45 solo exhibitions and numerous art fairs by 2021. He was active in various stages not only in Korea but also around the world.
He unfolded his world of art in his own unique way of layering and scraping paints to express the inner human being. His monochrome method is one of the contemporary art movements that began in the 1970s.
His funeral will be held at Severance Hospital in Seoul.
