Cable channel JTBC revealed Thursday that a new travel reality show featuring top singer Lee Hyo-ri and her mother is scheduled to premiere on May 26.

Tentatively titled "Mom, Will You Go on a Trip With Me?" the upcoming program adopts a road movie-style format, showcasing Lee's first trip accompanied solely by her mother.

The show will be centered around two tourist attractions in Korea, fulfilling destinations from Lee's mother's travel wish list. Specific locations have not been disclosed.

According to JTBC, the program aims to portray the close yet nuanced relationship between an ordinary mother and daughter, rather than focusing solely on Lee's celebrity status. Describing Lee's mother as equally witty as her daughter, the channel anticipates that the show will resonate with many mothers and daughters.

Producers Ma Geon-young and Park Sung-hwan, known for their work on successful reality shows such as "Hyori's Homestay" series (2017-18) and "Camping Club" (2019), will helm the new travel program.

"Hyori's Homestay" gained popularity for its therapeutic moments set at Lee Hyo-ri and her husband Lee Sang-soon's residence on Jeju Island, while "Camping Club" featured the members of first-generation K-pop girl group Fin.K.L, including Lee.

Expressing hopes that the show will inspire more mother-daughter trips, producer Ma emphasized its potential to motivate viewers.

Lee Hyo-ri, who commenced her singing career as a member of Fin.K.L in 1998, achieved solo success in 2003 with the release of "10 Minutes," a mega-hit that has recently garnered renewed attention on various social media platforms.
