Lee Jung-jae, a renowned Korean actor, is set to play the lead role in the upcoming Star Wars series, "The Acolyte." Expressing his enthusiasm, Jung-jae mentioned his childhood awe for the iconic franchise upon being cast.
Disney+ unveiled the main trailer for "The Acolyte" on May 4, accompanied by a special feature focusing on Jung-jae's character, Master Sol. The series is positioned a century before "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace."
In "The Acolyte," Jung-jae portrays Jedi Master Sol, characterized as a responsible and proficient Jedi willing to make sacrifices for peace. The narrative centers on Sol's investigation into a series of unprecedented Jedi murders.
Commenting on his character's demeanor, Jung-jae noted Sol's tendency to conceal emotions rather than express them outwardly. He also discussed his preparation for lightsaber action scenes, emphasizing the distinction between traditional swordplay and lightsaber combat.

Amandla Stenberg, who features in the series as May, commended Jung-jae's portrayal, particularly his prowess in fight sequences.
"The Acolyte," featuring Jung-jae in the lead role, is scheduled for release on Disney+ on June 5. The series boasts a production team with experience in crafting previous Star Wars productions, promising continuity in the franchise's legacy.
