Korean games stand out on Steam, the world's No. 1 game service platform

STEAM, operated by Valve Soft in the United States, is the world's largest online game service platform. Games under development or developed in countries around the world are serviced through the STEAM platform.

"STEAM" currently provides game distribution services in 24 languages in 237 countries. According to ValveSoft, "STEAM" currently has nearly 150 million users. There are more than 7,400 games registered on this platform. About 70% of online game distribution is serviced through "STEAM".

"STEAM" announced on the 25th of this month that the number of users who accessed the game at the same time reached an all-time high of 31.35 million because many games were sold at a lower price than usual through the Black Friday event.

"STEAM" announced through the Black Friday event on the 25th of this month that it sold many games at a lower price than usual, reaching an all-time high of 31.35 million simultaneous users.

In general, even if the number of users who accessed a specific game at the same time exceeds 100,000, it is classified as a big hit. In this regard, it is very surprising that STEAM has more than 30 million concurrent users.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk drew attention in February when he announced that he had started research to link the "STEAM" platform to future electric vehicles(EV).

If the project is commercialized, there will be an era where you can download and play various games from around the world by connecting directly to the "STEAM" platform inside Tesla's EV.

Korean games are also enjoying great popularity on this huge game distribution platform. It forms an important axis of the core games that make up the "STEAM" platform, alongside famous and steady-selling games in the United States.

Valve Soft selected 10 games that the most people enjoy playing in STEAM a few days ago, including two Korean games.

"Battle Ground" and "Lost Ark" ranked 6th and 9th, respectively, in the top 10 popular charts of "STEAM".

"Counter Strike: Global Offensive," "DOTA2," and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II," which formed the top three, are global mega-hits that can be easily identified by their names. All three games are considered legendary, making one page of the world's game history.

The two Korean-made games, which compete proudly with these global mega-hits, are also very famous works not only in Korea but also around the world.

First of all, "Battle Ground," developed and serviced by Krafton, is a "Battle Royal" genre game in which 100 players go to war and produce only one winner, and is gaining huge popularity worldwide.

SmileGate's self-developed "Lost Ark" is also a well-made MMORPG that boasts colorful graphics, which is globally serviced through "STEAM" and is steadily loved.

The fact that Korea's leading "Battle Ground" and "Lost Ark" are competing proudly with legendary games is a result of proving once again that Korean games have global competitiveness.

Now, many game developers in Korea want to sell the games they are currently developing to the world through "STEAM". Because if you collect good responses from "STEAM", it will immediately lead to a big hit.

They hope to be a big success with "STEAM", like KTafton and SmileGate, and are still working hard to develop the game.
