K-pop girl group Lovelyz is returning to the music scene with a special single titled "November" in celebration of its 10th anniversary, marking the group's first official release as a unit in over four years. The single, set to release on Tuesday at 6 p.m. KST, rekindles Lovelyz’s distinctive sound and emotional depth for long-time fans. This reunion comes after their last mini-album, "Unforgettable," which was released in September 2020.
The track "November" features a heartwarming melody enriched with bells, gentle plucking sounds, and vintage synthesizer tones, layered over a carefully crafted rhythm section. According to Woollim Entertainment, the agency that originally launched the group, the song captures the emotions of the members reflecting on their journey and reunion with fans who have stayed by their side over the years.
“‘November’ tells a story of eventual reunion despite being apart, symbolizing Lovelyz’s shared connection with their fans. The combination of nostalgic instrumentals and sincere vocals brings to life the group’s signature sentimental style,” Woollim stated in a press release. This song is particularly significant, given that each member contributed to capturing the emotion and gratitude they feel toward their loyal fan base.
In June, Lovelyz surprised fans with a special appearance on MBC's popular variety show Hangout with Yoo, where they performed as part of a spring festival episode. Their appearance generated excitement and hinted at a larger reunion project. Following this, the group announced an upcoming concert, titled LOVELYZ 4 OF WINTER WORLD, their first solo concert since 2020’s LOVELYZ ONTACT CONCERT.
The "Lovelyz of Winter World" concert series, which began in 2017, has become a staple for the group’s fan community, featuring live band sessions, intricate choreography, and a wide range of songs from their discography. This year's winter concert will run for two sold-out days at Seoul Student Gymnasium in Songpa District, Seoul, adding to the celebration of Lovelyz’s milestone anniversary.
In addition to the Seoul concert, Lovelyz has scheduled performances in Macau and Taiwan on November 24 and December 1, respectively. These concerts will give international fans a chance to experience the group's energy and emotional performances live, adding an international dimension to their anniversary celebrations.
Lovelyz originally debuted in 2014 with the single "Candy Jelly Love" and quickly rose in popularity with hits like "Ah-Choo," "Destiny," and "Now, We," many composed by esteemed songwriter Yoon Sang. Over the years, the group built a loyal fan base and became known for its sweet yet sophisticated music style.
After their contracts with Woollim Entertainment expired in 2021, the group members went their separate ways, with Lee Su-jeong being the only one to renew her contract with the agency. At the time, Woollim expressed gratitude to all members, stating, “We are thankful to Lovelyz for their dedication and achievements. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
Now, despite moving on to various solo projects, the members have come together again to continue the Lovelyz story. Their collective reunion, highlighted by the release of "November" and a series of concerts, demonstrates their ongoing bond and commitment to both the group and their fans.
