Director Yeon Sang-ho, known for "Hellbound" and "Train to Busan," aims to delve into themes of coexistence and organizational dynamics in his latest Netflix original series, "Parasyte: The Grey."

Based on Hitoshi Iwahaki's manga series "Parasyte," the show follows Jung Soo-in (Jeon So-nee) and Seol Gang-woo (Koo Kyo-hwan) as they navigate a world invaded by alien creatures, diverging from the original manga's focus on Japan to depict the invasion of South Korea.

Yeon expressed a desire to challenge audiences on the concept of coexistence between humans and non-human creatures, as well as exploring relationships between individuals and organizations within Korean society.

The series places particular emphasis on achieving realistic visual portrayals of the Parasytes, with Yeon highlighting the challenges of creating creatures with constantly changing forms using visual effects techniques.

Yeon attributed his inspiration for the series to his deep admiration for the original manga, expressing excitement for fans to experience the show's ending.

"Parasyte: The Grey" premieres exclusively on Netflix on April 5.
