Ichillin', the captivating K-pop girl group, is poised to make a resounding comeback this summer with the release of their highly anticipated new album. On Wednesday, the talented ensemble dropped their second mini album, "I'm on It!," just two months after the success of their fifth digital single, "Siren."

Having made their debut on September 8, 2021, with the digital single "Got'ya," Ichillin' has since taken the music world by storm. Comprised of seven members - Chowon, Yeju, Chaerin, Joonie, Jackie, E.Ji, and Jiyoon - the group brings an electrifying energy and vibrant talent to the forefront of the industry.

At the heart of "I'm on It!" lies the album's dynamic title track, "Kick-start." Embracing the high teen rock genre, the song captivates listeners with its funky guitar riffs and incorporates the sounds of a motorcycle engine into its melody. E.Ji, the group's leader, describes the choreography for the title track as powerful, with a highlight move that involves intertwining their arms above their heads and then spreading them wide, reminiscent of riding an airplane.

In the music video for "Kick-start," the members of Ichillin' take on the personas of high school girls, exuding youthful charm within a classroom setting. Reflecting on the creative process, Yeju shares, "It's the first time that we present a new album in summer. We really wanted to create a song that evokes the essence of the season, and when we first heard our title track, we were filled with satisfaction." Joonie adds, "When I first heard this track, it felt like an original soundtrack from a cartoon. It also reminds me of the exhilaration of surfing on a beach."

Apart from the catchy title track, "I'm on It!" features four other vibrant tracks, including "Meme," "Draw," "Alarm," and "Siren." Joonie and Jiyoon contributed their songwriting talents to the sidetrack "Draw," marking their first foray into lyric composition.

While Ichillin' previously embodied a girl crush image with their hit single "Siren," this album sees the group transform into summer divas, aiming to provide a refreshing escape from the heat with their bright and captivating songs. Chowon expresses their aspirations, stating, "Through this album, we hope to gain popularity and embark on a world tour. Personally, I would love to perform in Los Angeles, where our members Joonie and Jackie hail from."

Excitingly, Ichillin' hints at already preparing for their next album, raising anticipation for the group's continued growth and evolution. As their star continues to rise, Ichillin' is set to leave an indelible mark on the global music scene with their infectious melodies, powerful performances, and undeniable charm.
