In his new role as a "solo rookie artist," Hui expressed a sense of surrealism during the showcase, highlighting the significant shift in his musical journey. He dedicated considerable time, starting from November, to craft the EP, titled "WHU IS ME: Complex," emphasizing the theme of complexity as integral to understanding his artistic identity.

The singer and songwriter revealed that the album encapsulates the essence of his personal journey, stating, "It is what has made me what I am now ... as I’ve never stopped making efforts to overcome it."

The EP, featuring a lively dance track titled "Hmm BOP," consists of four carefully curated tracks. Notably, Hui collaborated with his bandmate Wooseok, adding a collaborative dimension to his solo endeavor.
