Launched in 2021, Bottega Veneta's annual campaign, "Bottega for Bottegas," pays homage to the enduring craftsmanship upheld by artisanal workshops globally. The initiative draws inspiration from the Italian luxury house's name, with "bottega" translating to "workshop" in Italian.
In the 2023 edition, the Milan-based label spotlights four boutique bottegas and creatives, showcasing the rich diversity of craftsmanship. Notably, master kite artisan Rhee Ki-tai, the first Korean craftsperson featured in the campaign, is recognized. Rhee, a third-generation kite maker and president of the Kitai Rhee Kite Preservation Association, operates the sole studio in Korea preserving 19th-century kite-making techniques, specializing in "bangpae yeon," a historical Korean fighter kite crafted from bamboo sticks and "hanji" (traditional Korean paper).

The other three workshops and artisans highlighted in this year's "Bottega for Bottegas" include Modiano in Italy, specializing in playing cards and paper products since 1868; Liu Wenhui, a Chinese wood craftsman crafting wooden building blocks inspired by ancient Chinese architecture; and Taiwanese artist Cheng Tsung Feng, known for large-scale installations, sculptures, and furniture, drawing on traditional handicraft production methods.
Throughout December, Bottega Veneta showcases and honors these featured bottegas on its website and the windows of its flagship store in Milan.
