“PROJECT HASHTAG 2022,” jointly planned by Hyundai Motor and National Museum of Contemporary Art, is being held at the National Museum of Contemporary Art.
This project, which was first opened in 2019 and was planned to be held every year for 5 years, is now in its 3rd year. And is an open creation platform that supports creators to freely express their experimental ideas.
It is being conducted as a public offering project. “Hashtag (#)”, the name of the business, is a search symbol widely used on social media, enabling Internet users around the world to connect with content and communicate.
The reason why “hashtag” is used as the keyword for the title is that, like the meaning of “hashtag,” this project implies the scalability that transcends the boundaries between traditional media and genres.
A total of 108 teams applied for the "Project Hashtag 2022" contest held in March this year. Among them, CRYPTON and LOST AIR were selected to participate in the showcase event.
Formed in 2018, CRYPTON is a “curatorial collective” that has collaborated at the intersection of art, technology, and accessibility, and they are presenting a virtual tourist destination “Koko Killing Island” in this showcase.

Koko Killing Island allows the audience to travel around the destination in a submarine and virtually experience the food suitable for it.
