All seven members of the K-pop group BTS are set to reunite on June 12 to celebrate the military discharge of Jin, the eldest member of the band, according to a local media report on Monday. Jin will complete his 18-month mandatory military service on that day.
While BTS's label, Big Hit Music, has declined to confirm the specifics of the reunion, it is reported that the other members of the group have requested leave to spend the day with Jin. Instead of greeting him at his military facility to avoid causing a disturbance, the group will meet at a different location.
Following his discharge, Jin will immediately resume activities. He is scheduled to participate in the group's annual festival on June 13 and will host a meet-and-greet with 1,000 fans. Additionally, Jin is expected to release a solo album in the near future.
All members of BTS are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service, with each member expected to complete their service by June of next year.
BTS will reunite on June 12, 2024, for Jin's military discharge, with plans for subsequent group activities.
