SEVENTEEN's The8 Shines as a Solo Artist with His First Chinese EP "STARDUST"

The8, a member of the globally celebrated group SEVENTEEN, has unveiled his first Chinese EP, STARDUST. Released on December 4, the EP represents a significant milestone in The8’s artistic journey as he steps further into the spotlight as a solo artist.

Speaking about the release, The8 expressed his excitement and dedication, stating, "I’ve been working on STARDUST for a long time, and I’m thrilled to finally share it. Through this album, I want to showcase my unique style as an artist." The EP’s title reflects its ethereal theme, symbolizing "stardust" scattered across the universe and evoking surreal, almost dreamlike emotions. With its rock-chic aesthetic and atmospheric sound, the album invites listeners into The8’s artistic cosmos.

STARDUST features three tracks, including the title song Orbit (轨道) featuring JinJiBeWater_隼. The8 contributed to the lyrics, composition, and production of all tracks, further establishing his credentials as a singer-songwriter. SEVENTEEN member Vernon collaborated on the first track, 54321 (Lift Off), lending his voice and co-writing the song alongside The8, promising a refreshing dynamic between the two.

The8 described the EP as "an enchanting blend of dreamy rhythms, infused with emotion and romance." He encouraged fans to immerse themselves in its nuances, adding, "I’m delighted to offer CARATs [SEVENTEEN’s fandom] a gift that carries my heartfelt sentiments."

As part of the album’s promotion, The8 is set to release a performance video for Orbit on December 6, showcasing his celebrated dance skills honed as a member of SEVENTEEN’s Performance Team. Official visualizers for the EP will also roll out on December 7 and 8, adding a visual layer to the auditory experience.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN continues their [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN, performing at the Tokyo Dome on December 4 and 5. The tour, which began at Vantelin Dome Nagoya, will proceed to Kyocera Dome Osaka and Fukuoka PayPay Dome, further solidifying their reputation as one of K-pop’s top touring acts.

The group is also gearing up for a performance at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12 (local time), where they will present LOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled). SEVENTEEN is nominated for the "Top K-pop Touring Artist" category, aiming for another milestone in their illustrious career.
