K-pop girl group Viviz is back with their fifth EP, Voyage, which was released Thursday. The trio – consisting of Eunha, SinB, and Umji – shared insights about the new album through their agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, explaining how their musical journey has evolved and how the title reflects this transition.
Following their previous EP Versus from a year ago, the group was inspired to return to the studio by the delayed but significant success of the focus track “Maniac” from their fourth EP. “We wanted to come back as soon as possible after ‘Maniac,’ but it also made us want to put even more effort into this album,” SinB said, emphasizing the high expectations they set for themselves with Voyage.
The EP title, Voyage, captures the essence of Viviz’s musical journey, symbolizing both the path they have traveled and the road ahead. Eunha elaborated on the meaning, saying, “The album reflects our journey so far and the journey we have yet to embark on. Voyage illustrates Viviz finding what only we can be.”
To celebrate the album’s release, Viviz prepared a special live performance of the songs from Voyage at a riverside stage along the Hangang River, despite the chilly autumn weather. The group’s lead single, “Shhh!,” will be among the highlights of the live performance, with the members promising, “We will heat up your hearts!”
With Voyage, Viviz hopes to reinforce their identity as a group and showcase the unique style they’ve cultivated since their debut. The album also reflects their growth and aspirations as artists, aiming to captivate listeners with a fresh yet personal sound. Viviz’s return has generated anticipation not only among fans but also within the K-pop community, marking a new chapter in their evolving artistry.
