The Cheongju Craft Biennale Organizing Committee announced on February 5 that it is recruiting participants for the “2025 Cheongju Craft Biennale D-200 Making Project” event, which will be held on February 13 at Munhwajejojang (Cultural Factory) in Cheongju.
The Making Project is a pre-event leading up to the 2025 Cheongju Craft Biennale, which will take place in September under the theme "Building the World." The event aims to explore the multifaceted meanings of the word “making” and encourage discussion on its implications across various fields.
A highlight of the event will be a lecture by actor and author Cha In Pyo, who will share insights into his journey as a writer. Cha will reflect on what led him to pursue writing and discuss the deeper meanings embedded in his novel "Someday, If We Look at the Same Stars"—a work that took him 10 years to complete.
Citizens interested in participating in the Making Project can apply through the QR code on the event’s promotional materials or via the official Cheongju Craft Biennale website. The event is limited to 300 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
The organizing committee expressed its enthusiasm for the event, stating, "The collaboration between Cha In Pyo, who conveys messages of repentance and forgiveness through his writing, and the Cheongju Craft Biennale will deliver a profound and meaningful experience. We invite the public to take part in this special project, which will extend into various creative fields, including architecture and fashion."
