Aespa’s “Dirty Work” Tops 1 Million Preorders Ahead of Release

SEOUL — K-pop girl group aespa’s new single Dirty Work surpassed 1.01 million copies in preorders as of Thursday, SM Entertainment announced Friday.

This marks the group’s sixth million-selling album, following Girls (2022), My World (2023), Drama (2023), Armageddon (2024), and Whiplash (2024).

Released Friday, Dirty Work includes four versions: the original title track, a collaboration with American rapper Flo Milli, an English version, and an instrumental version.

The music video was shot at a Hyundai Steel facility in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province. A physical special edition of the single, featuring a fan ring, will be released on July 4.

aespa — comprised of members Winter, Karina, Ningning, and Giselle — debuted in 2020 and is known for hits including “Black Mamba,” “Next Level,” “Savage,” “Armageddon,” and “Supernova.”

The group has become known for its “iron taste” aesthetic, a reference to its industrial, futuristic sound and visual concept.
