South Korean idol group Seventeen has once again set a new benchmark on Japan’s Oricon Annual Rankings 2024, solidifying their position as one of the most successful international acts in Japan. The rankings, released on December 20 and covering the period from December 25, 2023, to December 16, 2024, placed Seventeen as the highest-ranked overseas artist this year.

Seventeen’s achievements in Japan are highlighted by their ability to place two albums in the Top 10 of the Combined Album Rankings, a feat unmatched by any other artist, domestic or international. Their greatest hits album, "17 IS RIGHT HERE," secured 3rd place, while their 12th mini-album, "SPILL THE FEELS," earned 5th place. This dual success underscores the group’s widespread popularity and consistency in the Japanese music market.

Further solidifying their dominance, Seventeen achieved remarkable results in the Album Rankings category as well. "17 IS RIGHT HERE" placed 4th, while "SPILL THE FEELS" maintained its 5th position. Adding to this, their 11th mini-album, "SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN," released in October, climbed to the 13th spot. Seventeen stands out as the only artist with three albums in the top 15, an extraordinary accomplishment that highlights their prolific output and enduring fanbase.

Seventeen’s influence extended beyond albums to singles. Their Japanese single, "Sobi Kihan" (소비기한), ranked 17th in the Single Rankings despite being released as recently as November 27, demonstrating their rapid sales power with just two weeks of availability within the ranking period.

Their unparalleled popularity is also evident in their live performances. Seventeen launched their Japanese leg of the Be The Sun World Tour on November 29-30 at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya, performing a total of 10 shows across four major domes in Japan. The tour’s finale will take place on December 21-22 at Fukuoka PayPay Dome, capping off a year of extraordinary achievements.

Seventeen’s success on the Oricon charts and their sold-out tours highlight the group’s deep resonance with the Japanese audience. Their ability to maintain a consistent presence in one of the world’s most competitive music markets underscores their global appeal and mastery of producing music that transcends cultural barriers.
