Rising K-pop group Illit is set to roll out three unique remakes of their hit song “Cherish (My Love)” on Monday, as announced by their agency, Belift Lab. Originally the lead track from their second EP I’ll Like You, “Cherish” will be reimagined across seven tracks, each showcasing distinct arrangements, including “deep dive,” “moonlight,” and “fever” versions. These versions aim to blend genres with added jazzy tones, giving fans fresh perspectives on the song’s dance-pop essence.

I’ll Like You, the group’s latest five-track EP, has already made waves, selling over 382,000 copies in its first week—a record that surpasses the sales of their debut album, Super Real Me. This achievement reflects Illit’s growing popularity and strong fan support, which is helping the group carve a unique place in the K-pop landscape. The EP highlights Illit’s versatility, featuring tracks that range from upbeat dance-pop to soulful melodies, with "Cherish" leading as a standout piece.

Illit first captured international attention with “Magnetic,” the main track from their debut album, which became a milestone in K-pop by debuting at No. 91 on Billboard’s Hot 100—a first for a debut song by a K-pop act. Since then, "Magnetic" has maintained a stable presence on Billboard's Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts for 30 consecutive weeks, a rare feat for new artists.

Music critics and fans alike anticipate that the remakes of “Cherish” will offer an expanded soundscape, reflecting Illit’s experimental edge and the group’s commitment to pushing musical boundaries. By introducing jazz elements and genre-blending arrangements, Illit aims to appeal to a broader audience while showcasing its ability to reinvent its own hits. The “deep dive” version, for instance, promises a more mellow, introspective vibe, while the “moonlight” and “fever” versions will likely explore contrasting energy levels and moods, providing a dynamic listening experience.

Belift Lab expressed excitement about the upcoming release, stating that these remakes of “Cherish” are designed to showcase Illit’s artistic growth and musical range. “This project will bring out new textures and emotions in ‘Cherish,’ allowing fans to experience the song from different angles,” the agency shared.

With Illit’s EP I’ll Like You already proving to be a commercial success and the upcoming remakes adding further intrigue, the group continues to make strides in the K-pop scene. As fans eagerly await these remakes, Illit’s creative reimagining of their hit song positions them as a group that’s not only willing to take risks but also committed to providing an evolving and immersive experience for listeners.
