Seventeen is set to make history as the first K-pop artist to appear on Disney's highly popular program Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade, further solidifying their growing influence in North America. ABC announced on December 11 (local time) that the group will perform on the iconic holiday special, airing on December 25 during prime time.
The program, cherished as one of America’s most beloved holiday specials, features two hours of dazzling Disney character parades and performances by legendary pop stars. This year’s lineup includes global icons such as Elton John and John Legend, with Seventeen scheduled to deliver a standout performance of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.
The event will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, known for their work on ABC’s long-running dance competition Dancing with the Stars. Seventeen’s participation is another feather in the cap for K-pop as they continue to break barriers and captivate audiences worldwide.
Earlier this month, Seventeen also made waves with their appearance on ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular, becoming the first K-pop act to feature on the festive program. Their stunning performance left a lasting impression on American audiences, highlighting their rapidly growing fanbase in the region.
Seventeen’s momentum in North America continues to build. On December 12, the group will attend the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, vying for the Top K-pop Touring Artist award. They will also treat fans to a live performance of their mini-album 12th title track, Love, Money, Fame.
Meanwhile, Seventeen is in the midst of a highly successful world tour. They recently sold out shows at Japan’s Vantelin Dome Nagoya and Tokyo Dome, thrilling a combined audience of 190,000 fans. Their tour will continue with upcoming performances at Kyocera Dome Osaka and Fukuoka PayPay Dome.
With milestones like these, Seventeen is not only capturing the hearts of millions worldwide but also redefining what it means to be a global K-pop phenomenon.
