The 2024 Galleries Art Fair in Suwon will be held from June 27 to June 30 at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province.
Hosted by the Galleries Association of Korea, this major art fair is being held in Suwon for the first time, aiming to establish a new art distribution market centered on the southern region of Gyeonggi Province.

The fair leverages the extensive experience from the Galleries Art Fair, which has been held since 1979, and the infrastructure of the Suwon Convention Center, set against the backdrop of Gwanggyo Lake Park.
The Galleries Association of Korea stated that this event aims to address the imbalance in the art market, which is currently heavily concentrated in Seoul.

A total of 95 member galleries, including Park Ryu Sook Gallery, Keumsan Gallery, Gana Art, and One and J Gallery, will participate, showcasing works from over 600 artists.
Solo booths will feature prominent artists such as Tae Hyup Kim (Noh Gallery), Byung Chul Woo (Nine Gallery), Ju Young Ryu (Art Side Gallery), Sim Se Yeon Ji (BHAK), and Sang Yoon Han (Art Forest).

The event includes special exhibitions like 'Zoom-In' for emerging artists under 39, 'New Media: Futuristic' featuring contemporary art that integrates technology, 'Suwon in Mind' focusing on Suwon City, 'Joyful' showcasing sculptures by nine artists, and a special exhibition by brick artist Jinke using LEGO bricks.

Accompanying events include Gallery Night, which provides opportunities to network with cultural and artistic figures, and a Candlelight Concert in a space surrounded by LED candles.
Visitors can also enjoy local culinary delights through the 'All That Suwon' program, which highlights Suwon galbi, Suwon chicken street, and Hwaseong Haenggung.
Efforts have been made to enhance accessibility to art for all societal members, with programs like the Kids Art Salon, pet-friendly admission, and docent tours for children from multicultural families.
