In a confirmation by rrr Entertainment to the Korea JoongAng Daily on Thursday, it was revealed that Yubin, former member of the K-pop group Wonder Girls, and tennis player Kwon Soon-woo have amicably parted ways. The agency stated that the two will continue supporting each other on their respective journeys despite the end of their romantic relationship.

Speculation arose when Yubin deleted her Instagram posts featuring Kwon and unfollowed his Instagram account, leaving fans to wonder if the couple had indeed broken up. They publicly acknowledged their relationship in May after Yubin was spotted cheering for Kwon at the 2023 Davis Cup in February. Subsequently, they shared glimpses of their relationship through social media.

Yubin, a prominent figure in the K-pop industry, made her debut with the Wonder Girls in 2007, gaining immense popularity for hit tracks like "Tell Me" (2007), "So Hot" (2008), and "Nobody" (2008). Since the group's disbandment, she has pursued a successful solo career, releasing multiple albums since 2018.

Kwon Soon-woo, the country's top tennis player, faced recent controversy for his conduct during the men's singles tournament at the Asian Games. After losing to Samrej Kasidit of Thailand, he was seen smashing his tennis racket on the floor and refusing to shake hands. This incident stirred criticism both at home and abroad, prompting an official apology from the Korean Sports & Olympic Committee (KSOC) the following day. The controversy led to some fans suggesting that Yubin should end her relationship with Kwon.
