The moon jar series and Blue and White Ware exhibited at '2022 Craft Trend Fair' captivated the audience.
Numerous handicrafts were put on stage in this exhibition. Among them, the moon jar series exhibited in Yeoju Hall is one of the most favorite handicrafts of Koreans. Five artists submitted their moon jars.
Blue and White Ware, a traditional Korean pottery, was also enough to attract the attention of the audience. Blue and White Ware were originally produced in China in the early 14th century.
However, Korean potters reinterpreted it in their own unique way from the period of King Sejo of the Joseon Dynasty to the 18~19th centuries.
The Blue and White Ware eventually became a type of Joseon white china. But It should be remembered that Blue and White Ware is a completely different ceramic from Goryeo Celadon, the world-famous traditional Korean porcelain.
Several pieces of Blue and White ware by Korean artists were exhibited at this fair.
Meanwhile, Korea’s largest craft festival, 2022 Craft Trend Fair, which celebrated its 17th anniversary this year, opened at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-GU, Seoul on the 8th.
Claiming to be the “most effective craft business exhibition”, this fair seeks to popularize and industrialize Korean craft culture by expanding the industrial and artistic values of crafts.
About 330 companies, including craft artists, galleries, workshops, and institutions, are participating in this year's event, showcasing their various works and interacting with the public.
