A shocking nighttime incident occurred on a regional train in the Hannover area when 20 men stormed the vehicle and covered it with graffiti in what authorities are calling an alarming attack. The perpetrators targeted an Enno company regional train at the Dedenhausen station stop in the municipality of Uetze near Hannover, creating chaos for dozens of passengers aboard.
The coordinated attack took place on Saturday just before midnight, with the group of men pulling two emergency brakes to force the train to stop. Once the train was immobilized, they unlocked four doors and began spray-painting graffiti across the vehicle's exterior surfaces. The vandals managed to cover approximately 150 square meters of the train with their illegal artwork before fleeing the scene.
According to the Federal Police Inspection Hannover, between 30 and 40 passengers were traveling on the train during the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the passengers or train staff, though the experience was undoubtedly frightening for those aboard. The attackers disappeared in an unknown direction after completing their vandalism spree, leaving authorities to investigate the extensive damage.
The financial impact of the incident is still being calculated, as officials work to determine the total cost of repairs and cleaning needed to restore the train to service. The Federal Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the case, treating it as criminal property damage. Investigators are currently analyzing recorded video footage from the scene and are appealing to witnesses for any additional tips or evidence that could help identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
