A unique exhibition dedicated to the brilliant Catalan artist Salvador Dalí has opened in downtown Toulouse, France. Titled "Dalí Invites Himself to Toulouse," this temporary exhibition showcasing the surrealist master's work will run from December 5, 2025, through February 8, 2026, at the Hotel Albert 1er near Place du Capitole.
Organized by MIXS ART, the exhibition features more than 100 works and objects that showcase Dalí's masterful oeuvre "in all its richness, diversity, and modernity," according to the organizers. The Hotel Albert 1er presents original Dalinian works from private collections rarely exhibited in France, including bronze and crystal sculptures, lithographs, porcelain, ceramics, and books. This approach of creating a temporary cultural space perfectly illustrates the spirit of innovation and reinvention that characterizes Salvador Dalí so well, allowing visitors to discover even lesser-known facets of the artist.
MIXS ART, which should not be confused with the former Mix'art Myrys venue, is "dedicated to promoting the work of Salvador Dalí through exhibitions and conferences," according to the company's website. The organization believes that art can transform and inspire, and is committed to offering memorable and educational experiences. The company is led by Mickael Mamou, described as "a self-taught individual passionate about art history and specialized in the works and life of Salvador Dalí."
The exhibition "Dalí Invites Himself to Toulouse" reveals a concentrate of the inexhaustible creativity of the master of surrealism through six distinct themes. These include "Dalí Reinvents Cards" focusing on games and divination, "Dalí Sublimates Money" featuring the art of bas-relief, "Dalí, the Alchemist of Books" showcasing monuments of imagination, "Dalí, Creator of Images and Brands" highlighting his role as king of advertising and design, "Dalí Invites You to His Table" presenting a spectacle of emotions and pleasures, and "Dalí, Master of Volumes and Light" displaying dreams in three dimensions. Additionally, there is an off-theme section featuring porcelain and ceramics.
Due to the anticipated high interest in this unique exhibition, organizers have implemented a limited capacity of 35-40 people per time slot "to offer you a privileged and unforgettable experience." Free guided tours are also available for groups of 12 or more people upon reservation.
Ticket prices for this temporary exhibition are set at €15 for adults, €12 for reduced rates, and €8 for children aged 7 to 12 years. The exhibition is free for children under 7 years old. The exhibition takes place at Hotel Albert 1er, located at 5 Rue J F Kennedy, 31000 Toulouse, with additional information available on the Mixsart website.
