Renowned singer-songwriter Chang Ki-ha is set to deliver a unique performance in collaboration with the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), as announced by the museum on Thursday.
Chang Ki-ha will perform three songs complementing the artworks featured in the MMCA's Chang Ucchin (1917-1990) retrospective. The live performance will be broadcast on the MMCA's YouTube channel on Friday at 4 p.m.
The retrospective, titled "The Most Honest Confession," is currently on display at the MMCA's Deoksu Palace branch in Jung District, central Seoul. This exhibition showcases 270 works that offer insights into the artistic world of the late modern painter, Chang Ucchin.

Chang Ki-ha expressed his gratitude at the opportunity to perform within the context of Chang Ucchin's retrospective. He shared his appreciation for the curator's revelation that, despite Chang Ucchin's focus on magpies and trees in his works, the artist continually introduced changes to his creations. Chang Ki-ha identified with Chang Ucchin's straightforward and unrestricted approach to art, finding a connection to his own life philosophy.
Chang Ki-ha made his debut as a member of the band Kiha & The Faces in 2008. The group gained recognition for their experimental hits, including "Cheap Coffee" (2008), "Living the Carefree Life" (2009), "The Moon is Waxing, Let's Go" (2009), and "That's Just What You Think" (2018).
