Legendary Britpop band Oasis is set to return to South Korea for the first time in 16 years with a highly anticipated concert at the Goyang Sports Complex on October 21, 2025. The announcement was made on November 22 through the band’s official X account, where they teased fans with the message: “South Korea. Our new best friends. Hold on. Oasis is coming.”

Formed in 1991, Oasis is celebrated for their dynamic fusion of rock ‘n’ roll rhythms and pop sensibilities. Their timeless hits, including Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and Live Forever, have transcended generations. With over 90 million albums sold worldwide, the band remains one of the most influential acts in music history.

The upcoming concert marks the band’s first performance in Korea since 2009, following their hiatus due to longstanding tensions between the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam. After disbanding in 2009, both members pursued individual music careers with their respective bands. However, fans’ long wait for an Oasis reunion ended this year when the brothers announced their return to the stage in August with the Oasis Live ’25 world tour.

The announcement of their reunion has sent shockwaves across the music world. Fans celebrated as Oasis’s debut album and hit songs climbed back into the UK charts, with several tracks landing in the Top 10. Tickets for their initial tour dates in the UK and Ireland sold out instantly, with over 10 million fans from 158 countries vying for seats. Subsequent shows in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil also sold out within hours of ticket releases.

Oasis has a special history with their Korean fans. Their first visit in 2006 left a deep impression on both the band and the audience, a sentiment the Gallagher brothers have repeatedly expressed in interviews. In 2009, Oasis returned to Korea for two performances: a standalone concert and a festival headlining gig, where they treated fans to a rare live rendition of Live Forever.

Noel Gallagher has also maintained a strong connection with Korean audiences through his solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, with multiple visits over the years. Notably, his recent performances have seen a growing number of younger fans, with teenagers and those in their 20s making up more than 70% of the audience.

Tickets for Oasis’s 2025 Seoul concert will go on pre-sale for fan club members starting at noon on November 28 through Interpark. General ticket sales will open at noon on November 29, also exclusively on Interpark.

As Oasis prepares to reunite with their loyal Korean fanbase, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a monumental event in the global music calendar. Their return not only marks a new chapter in the band’s storied career but also reaffirms their enduring legacy as icons of Britpop and rock.
