MNET
In a resounding crescendo to the captivating K-pop spectacle, cable network Mnet has unveiled the seven finalists of its acclaimed audition show, "Queendom Puzzle." Hwiseo, Nana, Yuki, Kei, Yeoreum, Yeonhee, and Yeeun, whose rankings range from first to seventh place, will coalesce to form the exciting new project girl group, EL7Z UP.
With a dynamic vision for the future, EL7Z UP is poised to initiate its official journey with a debut album slated for release before the year's end, signaling a momentous start to their artistic voyage. Further expansion onto the international stage is also on the horizon, as the group gears up for anticipated overseas endeavors.
Distinguished from their predecessors, this project group will not be bound by fixed contract years, a departure from the convention set by other Mnet-produced groups. Specifics regarding their forthcoming activities and creative pursuits will be disclosed at a later date.
The amalgam of winners reflects a diverse spectrum within K-pop, encompassing emerging talents and seasoned veterans alike. Yeonhee, Nana, Yuki, and Hwiseo epitomize the youthful vigor that permeates the industry, having debuted in the years spanning 2019 to 2022. On the other end of the spectrum, Kei from Lovelyz, Yeoreum from WJSN, and Yeeun, an established member of CLC since 2015, showcase their seasoned expertise and dedication.
"I'm deeply appreciative of the chance to participate in 'Queendom Puzzle,' and I want to extend my gratitude to the fans and viewers who placed me in the top spot," Hwiseo, who secured the coveted first place with an impressive 444,495 votes, expressed in a press release.
Nana, the runner-up garnering 430,450 votes, shared her introspection: "Over the past four months, I've encountered challenges that helped me identify my limitations and areas for growth. As the leader of Woo!Ah!, I'm committed to setting an inspiring example."
While the show's culmination gave rise to a triumphant ensemble, a group of equally talented participants missed out on the final formation. Suyun, Wooyeon, Jihan, Elly, Juri, Jiwoo, and Dohwa secured seventh to 14th positions respectively.
In the climactic finale, the spotlight shone on the musical prowess of the contestants. Collaborating in two teams, Hwiseo, Yeoreum, Yeeun, Dohwa, Juri, Jiwoo, and Hwiseo graced the stage with "Last Piece," while Nana, Kei, Yuki, Yeonhee, Jihan, Suyun, and Wooyeon brought to life "Billionaire." These performances were brought to life under the guidance of SM Entertainment's accomplished producer, Kenzie.
"Queendom Puzzle," the third installment in Mnet's celebrated "Queendom" series, diverged from its predecessors. By assembling subunits through a creative puzzle-like approach, the show introduced a fresh dynamic, ultimately culminating in the formation of the captivating project girl group, EL7Z UP.
Throughout the journey, participants hailed from diverse corners of the K-pop realm, spanning Weki Meki, Weeekly, tripleS, soloist Dohwa (formerly known as Chanmi from AOA), Miru (formerly of Japanese girl group NMB48), and more. As the vibrant legacy of "Queendom Puzzle" unfolds, EL7Z UP stands as a testament to the boundless creativity and unrelenting passion inherent in K-pop.
