The Zeitkunstgalerie Halle will open its doors to a new exhibition titled "FUTURE IS NOW - The Future Center and Other New Images from the Claus Berg Collection and Jewelry by Anke Krause" with a festive opening reception on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. The gallery, located on Kleine Marktstraße, promises to offer visitors a multifaceted perspective on contemporary artistic positions that bridge the past, present, and future.
Roman Pliske, Managing Director of Mitteldeutscher Verlag (MDV), will deliver the opening speech, providing cultural-political and art historical context for the exhibition. The ceremonial atmosphere will be enhanced by a chamber music program performed by violinist Kathrin Hauser and pianist Hans-Martin Uhle, creating an elegant backdrop for the event.
A special highlight of the morning will be the unveiling of Claus Berg's newest work: "Future Center - MetalPrint - 2025 - 163 x 163 cm (four-part)." This large-format piece will be presented to the public for the first time. Berg's artistic works are characterized by a particular engagement with urban spaces, focusing on their transformation, historical layers, and often contradictory aesthetics that form the core of his creative output.
"Many places first encounter me through their history and their buildings. Historical and modern urban structures fascinate me. Sometimes, however, they seem distorted and unreal. The sky is not always blue and the leaves are not always green. Both - buildings and colors - are worth drawing and printing," explains Claus Berg regarding his artistic approach. This philosophy permeates the works in the exhibition, featuring color-intensive visual worlds that oscillate between realism and alienation, opening new perspectives on familiar spaces for viewers.
The presentation is complemented by jewelry works from Anke Krause, whose delicate yet powerful pieces provide a sensitive counterpoint to Berg's urban visual language. Her handcrafted creations combine traditional techniques with contemporary design - an interplay that expands the exhibition space with an aesthetically and emotionally rich dimension.
Both artists will be personally present at the opening and will be available for conversations with visitors. With "FUTURE IS NOW," the Zeitkunstgalerie achieves an exciting look forward while simultaneously reflecting on what shapes our present time.
