Netflix's 'Kpop Demon Hunters' Hit Song 'Golden' Climbs Back to No. 3 on UK Official Singles Chart

The breakout hit "Golden" from Netflix's animated film "Kpop Demon Hunters" has made a remarkable comeback on the British Official Singles Chart, climbing two positions to reach No. 3 in its 17th consecutive week on the chart. The song's resurgence demonstrates the lasting power of K-pop influenced music in the international market.

Performed by Korean American artists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami as the fictional girl group Huntr/x from the animated film, "Golden" has had an impressive chart journey since its debut. The track first entered the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 at No. 93 back in June, then experienced a meteoric rise that saw it dominate the No. 1 position for eight consecutive weeks before experiencing a temporary decline and now rising again.

The song's continued success is particularly noteworthy given the current competitive landscape of the music charts, where global superstar Taylor Swift's latest album tracks are dominating various music rankings worldwide. Despite this intense competition, "Golden" has managed to maintain its strong position, highlighting the growing influence of K-pop and Korean-influenced music in Western markets.

"Golden" has also achieved significant success in the United States, where it topped the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart for eight weeks, further cementing its status as a cross-Atlantic hit. The soundtrack from "Kpop Demon Hunters" has produced multiple chart successes beyond just "Golden."

Other tracks from the film's soundtrack are also performing well on the British charts. "Your Idol" currently sits at No. 10, dropping just one position from the previous week's No. 9 ranking. Meanwhile, "How It's Done" has reentered the chart at No. 12, showing the soundtrack's broad appeal. However, not all soundtrack songs maintained their momentum, as "Takedown," performed by the established K-pop girl group TWICE, fell six spots to No. 93.

The success of these songs coincides with the unprecedented success of "Kpop Demon Hunters" itself. Released on June 20, the animated film has officially become the most-watched title in Netflix's history, surpassing all previous records for both films and television series on the streaming platform. This achievement underscores the global appetite for K-pop content and Korean entertainment.

The British charts are also reflecting broader K-pop success beyond the "Kpop Demon Hunters" soundtrack. "Eyes Closed," a highly anticipated collaboration between BLACKPINK member Jisoo and British pop star Zayn, made its debut at No. 37. Additionally, "Gabriela" by K-pop girl group Katseye showed steady growth, climbing one position to reach No. 38. BLACKPINK's Rosé also maintained chart presence with "APT.," which ranked 67th despite dropping three spots from the previous week, demonstrating the sustained global interest in BLACKPINK members' solo projects.
