In a triumphant moment for the global K-pop community, Stray Kids claimed the coveted award for "Best K-pop" at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards with their latest single, "S-Class." The exhilarating announcement was made at the event held in Newark, New Jersey, where members of Stray Kids, including Bang Chan and Felix, expressed their gratitude to fans and their excitement for the future.

"We've been making music ever since the start of our career, but to receive this award just really means a lot to us," remarked Bang Chan of Stray Kids, standing on stage to accept the prestigious accolade. The "Best K-pop" category included formidable contenders such as aespa with "Girls," Blackpink for "Pink Venom," Fifty Fifty for "Cupid," Seventeen with "Super," and Tomorrow X Together for "Sugar Rush Ride."

Additionally, Tomorrow X Together (TXT) earned recognition for their remarkable performance on the MTV "Push" series, securing the "Performance of the Year" award for "Sugar Rush Ride." Expressing their gratitude, Huening Kai of Tomorrow X Together expressed, "We will remember how excited we were to become 'Push' artists. We wanted to show who we are and our music to lots of people. This award means that we did that. Thank you, Moa," referring to the band's dedicated fandom.

TXT also seized the moment to debut "Back for More" alongside Brazilian pop artist Anitta during their electrifying performance at the event.

In another spotlight-stealing moment, Jungkook of BTS clinched the "Song of the Summer" award for "Seven (Ft. Latto)." His solo debut track, released in July, garnered immense acclaim and dominated major music charts, including Oricon, iTunes, Official Singles, and Billboard.

K-pop enthusiasts also witnessed Blackpink's formidable presence at the VMAs, as the girl group received nominations in six distinct categories: "Best K-pop," "Show of the Summer," "Group of the Year," "Best Choreography," "Best Art Direction," and "Best Editing." Blackpink proudly claimed the title for "Group of the Year."

Blackpink continues to shine on their "Born Pink" world tour, which commenced in October of the previous year, enchanting audiences across 34 cities and amassing an impressive fan following of approximately 1.75 million fans thus far.
