Disney+ Announces Cast for New Original Series

Actors Ryu Seung-ryong, Lim Soo-jung, and Yang Se-jong Lead the Ensemble

Actors Ryu Seung-ryong, Lim Soo-jung, and Yang Se-jong have been cast in the upcoming Disney+ original series "The Hooligans,"(tentative title) set for release in 2025.

The streaming platform announced the cast members on Monday, revealing that the series is based on the webtoon of the same name by Yoon Tae-Ho. It will center around individuals embarking on a treasure-hunting expedition to recover valuables from a shipwreck off the coast of South Jeolla Province in the 1970s.

Filmmaker Kang Yun-sung, known for his work on the platform's series "Big Bet" and the crime action film "The Outlaws" (2017), will helm the series.

In addition to the lead actors, the cast includes Lee Dong-hwi, Chung Yun-ho, Kim Sung-oh, Kim Eui-sung, and Hong Gi-jun.

Ryu Seung-ryong gained international recognition for his role in Disney+'s series "Moving," which earned him the Best Actor award at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards last year. He is also nominated for Best Actor in a TV Series at the upcoming Baeksang Arts Awards.

Lim Soo-jung returns to the small screen after her lead role in the 2021 romance series "Melancholia." She recently appeared in the comedy film "Cobweb" and the romantic comedy "Single in Seoul."

Yang Se-jong, known for his roles in series like "Temperature of Love" (2017) and "My Country: The New Age" (2019), starred in Netflix's romance series "Doona!" last year.

The series marks a collaboration between Yang and director Lee Jung-hyo, known for his work on the popular series "Crash Landing on You" (2019).
