K-pop artists are increasingly lending their talents to Hollywood film soundtracks, aiming to expand their reach to a global audience.
Girl group aespa released "Die Trying" on April 4, a track featured on the soundtrack of Netflix's "Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver." The song, produced in collaboration with Korean American DJ TOKiMONSTA, serves as the theme for the character Nemesis, portrayed by Korean actress Bae Doo-na. The "Inspired By" EP, which includes "Die Trying," also features contributions from Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez and Dominican rapper Tokischa.

This marks aespa's second collaboration with Hollywood, following their contributions to the soundtrack of the 2023 biographical thriller "Tetris" and the Emmy Award-winning musical series "Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock."
On April 5, Jacob and Kevin from K-pop group The Boyz released "Electric Energy (Reimagination)," a reworked version of the theme song for the 2024 spy action comedy film "Argylle." Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the film centers on an author drawn into espionage.
Other K-pop stars, such as Jimin of BTS and girl group FIFTY FIFTY, have also contributed to Hollywood soundtracks. Last year, Jimin collaborated on "Angel Pt.1" for "Fast & Furious 10," while FIFTY FIFTY released "Barbie Dreams" for the fantasy comedy film "Barbie."
