The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is presenting "Sharing the Space," a compelling photography exhibition featuring works by the Women Photographers Collective of the Mid-Hudson Valley, curated by Anne Arden McDonald. The exhibition runs through November 30, 2025, at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts in Woodstock, New York.

The showcase highlights the artistic vision of 16 contemporary female photographers, including Gail Albert, Joan Barker, Ana Bergen, Nancy Donskoj, Jill Enfield, Mary Ann Glass, Lori Grinker, Maria Fernanda Hubeaut, Kay Kenny, Dorothea Marcus, Dana Matthews, Meryl Meisler, Susan Phillips, Carla Shapiro, Kelly Sinclair, and Ruth Wetzel. Their work is displayed alongside carefully selected pieces from the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild's permanent collection.

The exhibition creates a unique dialogue between past and present by combining 50 diverse contemporary landscape photographs with historical landscape paintings from the Guild's permanent collection. This thoughtful pairing demonstrates how different generations of artists have interpreted and captured the same geographical region over time.

All the featured artists share a common connection to the Hudson Valley region, which serves as both their home and artistic inspiration. The exhibition explores how these women photographers have each found their own way to express the beauty and character of this historically significant area of New York State.

Curator Anne Arden McDonald emphasized the timeless human connection to nature in her statement about the exhibition. "Throughout history, people have sought refuge in nature, searching for beauty and tranquility, though each generation expresses this desire differently," McDonald noted, highlighting the universal appeal of landscape art across different time periods.

The exhibition is housed at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts, located at 36 Tinker Street in Woodstock, NY 12498. Visitors can learn more about the exhibition and the participating artists by visiting the Woodstock Guild's website at woodstockguild.org or the Women Photographers Collective's site at womenphotographerscollective.com.
