The announcement was made by Yang Hyun-suk, the chief producer of the group, through a video posted on the agency's official blog on Thursday. According to Hyun-suk, Ahyeon's health has fully recovered, and she is actively participating in the recording of songs for the group's upcoming album.

Ahyeon had initially left the group 12 days before its official debut on November 15, 2023, citing health reasons. The agency, in an official statement at the time, mentioned that Ahyeon decided to focus on her recovery.

Ahyeon is slated to resume group activities with the release of BABYMONSTER's first mini-album in April. The group's previously released songs will be rerecorded to include Ahyeon in the new album.

Before the mini-album release, BABYMONSTER will unveil a new single, "Stuck in the Middle," on February 1, featuring a six-member lineup.

Yang Hyun-suk also highlighted internal restructuring at YG Entertainment in the video, noting an increase in the internal producer team from around 10 members to over 50. He expressed that the agency is progressing faster, with the goal of releasing BABYMONSTER's first full-length album around autumn.
